Cristina Martelo (b. 1992) was born in Bogota, Colombia. In 2016, she graduated from Fordham University and holds a degree in International Studies, as well as French. She wrote her senior thesis on “Mindfulness as Proactive Prevention for Depression.”
Cristina is a writer, photographer, and creative, specializing in travel, culture, wellness, and documentary photography.
Transitioning from a career in the humanitarian field, she embarked on a journey of self discovery and expression. At the intersection of her love for travel, sense of wonder, and passion for storytelling, she delves into the unique stories of diverse cultures, bringing to light the shared experiences that unite us.
She thrives on embracing new adventures and constantly seeks opportunities to expand her understanding of the world. In August 2023, she completed a Visual Storytelling certificate at the International Center of Photography in New York.
Her work “Reality Dysmorphia” was featured in The Smart View’s PHmuseum Mobile Photography in 2021, in their online exhibition, “Identity, Representation, and Self-Representation in the Mobile Era.”
Cristina has lived in multiple countries, among them Mexico, Greece, France, Jordan, and Lebanon, and has traveled to over 50 countries. Her latest ventures include surfing, mastering a handstand, and learning Levantine Arabic.
She is open to work and collaborations.
